Oak Mountain Troop Dishes it Out

What did you do today? Troop 512 from Oak Mountain learned about the culinary arts as they completed their Creative Cooking badge. First, the girls went on two field trips to further their cooking knowledge. They traveled to a Domino's Pizza where the girls learned about restaurant management and even got the chance to make their own pizza! They then traveled to Birmingham Bake and Cook to learn more about kitchen tools and how to use them. The final step in completing the badge was applying the knowledge they had learned by fixing and serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. The girls made the menu: Chicken parmesan, garlic bread, tossed green salad with Ranch dressing, Pasta Alfredo and of course, Girl Scout cookies for dessert. They then had the chance to serve dinner to the guests and see the rewards of their hard work.
