Amberlee Earns Bronze Award

Amberlee, a student at Valley Junior High School and a member of Troop 125 in Jasper, earned her Bronze Award for her project Dancing Up a Storm. After the April 27, 2011 tornados, Amberlee decided to collect Sunday School and Nursery supplies for Long Memorial Methodist Church in Cordova. For the first part of her project, Amberlee spoke to Sunday School classes at Eastside Baptist Church and First Freewill Baptist Church about the items she needed. She also held a 3-hour dance class for 25 girls that also included a donation drive. Amberlee was able to donate 10 full boxes of supplies to Long Memorial Methodist Church.

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can earn. This award recognizes that a Girl Scout Junior has gained the leadership and planning skills required to follow through with a project that makes a positive difference in her community.
