Savana, students at Thompson Middle School, and Nelsonya, student a Calera Middle School, recently earned the Girl Scout Silver Award. The girls wanted to share their love of music of others, so they taught kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Montevallo how to play flutophones. The girls held a week-long seminar to teach the children. Through their project, the girls learned public speaking skills, and that leadership skills are needed in everyday situations. Fifty-six girls, adults and family members came out on Saturday, November 23, to help brighten up Camp Anderel in Rogersville. Attendees raked leaves, swept out cabins, prepared mattresses for winter storage, cleaned the kitchen area and windows, helped clear the trails and more! Girls enjoyed fellow-shipping and working alongside each other outdoors as they shared in the stewardship of our camp.
