Rocky Mountain Day Camp Ends With a Song

RMDC concluded an amazing week of day camp at Kanawahala Program Center earlier this month with skits, celebrating accomplishments and friendships, and thank you’s all around.

Approximately 145 girls were able to attend camp all week because nearly 75 program assistants and adult volunteers stepped up to provide this experience. Five days a week and nearly 10 hours a day is a huge volunteer commitment, not to mention all the training, planning, and meetings leading up to the actual week of camp.

The girls in this video are some of youngest campers being first and second graders.  One parent said how her daughter started the week afraid to get in a canoe with a PA to going out by herself in a kayak!

This year was especially fun as older girls were able to be the first in line for the new high ropes course which was recently renovated at Kanawahala Program Center, and they loved it!
Karen Peterlin, CEO, also attended All Camp and praised all the girls and volunteers for their efforts.  "You will never forget the skills, memories, and friendships that you made here this week," Peterlin said. Volunteers agree this is an amazing week on many levels and is often the highlight of their year in Girl Scouts!
