Cadette Girl Scout Shelby Travis of Troop 312 in Madison recently earned her Plant Interest Project Award by using the entry as her 6th grade science project. She tested the results of planting the same plants in soil and hydroponically and see which grew better. Shelby’s Girl Scout project won the Horizon Elementary School Science Fair and continued on to the North Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair (NARSEF). At NARSEF she placed 4th out of 12 entries for grades 6-8.
Interest Project Awards are earned by Girl Scouts ages 11-17. These earned awards are recognized symbols of achievement and excellence.
