Troop 30136 Earns Silver Award with Lovelady Center Project

Cecily, Jamie, Cayla, Charlotte and Claire, students at Pizitz Middle School and members of Girl Scout Troop 30136, earned the Girl Scout Silver Award for the project Room Makeover at Lovelady Center. The girls worked together to redo the room of a resident at the center. The resident had four children and only three beds, so the girls reorganized the room, gave her new bedding and curtains, painted and fixed the ceiling and bathroom. Through this project, the girls learned how to manage money and the project, as well as work as a team with each other and with adults.

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette (grades 6-8) can earn. This award symbolizes a Girl Scout Cadette's accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she matures and works to better her life and the lives of others.
