Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama welcomes Mary Charles, interim chief executive officer. Charles is a Girl Scout executive leader who has over 26 years of diverse experience in strategic leadership and staff development.
Charles served most recently as interim chief executive officer and chief operating officer at Girl Scouts of North East Kansas and North West Missouri, where she helped align the council’s technology to GSUSA platforms and oversaw 1.5 million dollar property development and maintenance projects.
“I am impressed with the experience and expertise of our Interim Chief Executive Officer Mary Charles,” said Sarah Edwards, GSCNA board president.
“I am looking forward to working with her on strengthening the board's support of the girls and the program in our jurisdiction. I know we on the board and Mary Charles will make a great team.”
Charles is a native of Wisconsin, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation administration from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse.
Charles has been a Girl Scout since she was seven years old. She owns stock in the Green Bay Packers and enjoys quilting, card making, cooking, golf and gardening.
