Jemison Troop 340 Earns Silver Award Teaching Survival Skills

Girl Scout Troop 340 members Sarah and Michaela, ninth graders at Jemison High School, recently earned the Girl Scout Silver Award for their project Camping with Christ. The girls organized a camping trip for children in kindergarten through sixth grade at their Jemison First Baptist Church to teach them survival skills and to tie those skills into Bible lessons. Their project taught the girls about leadership and the responsibilities of working with small children.

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn. This award symbolizes a Girl Scout Cadette's accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she matures and works to better her life and the lives of others.
