On Thursday, August 14, 2014,
the GSNCA Board of Directors met for their first regular meeting since the
Annual Meeting in April. Twenty voting members, six non-voting members, our
interim CEO, and several members of our senior staff attended the meeting.
At this meeting, the board approved the 2014-15 budget that will be in effect from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. The Board Development Committee (BDC) also presented nominations for two additional members to join the board of directors. Dr. Jean Pugliese from Etowah County and Ms. Wendy Reese from Jefferson County were elected by the board to serve as directors (voting members) for a two-year term. Their terms began at the close of the August 14, 2014 meeting of the GSNCA Board of Directors and end at the close of the GSNCA Annual Meeting in 2016.
Lastly, it is with regret
that the board announces three board member resignations that were tendered during the
meeting. Susan Carswell, Pam Callaway, and Ruth Ellen Yeager announced their
resignations from the board of directors effective immediately. The board of
directors thanks each of them for their service to the council and wishes them
well in the future.
